Pentagon strikes classified AI deals with OpenAI, Google, and Nvidia — but not Anthropic

The Pentagon has announced deals with OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, and Reflection, allowing the agency to use their AI tools in classified settings. However, Anthropic, which was previously used for classified information, has been excluded from these deals. The Pentagon's chief technology officer, Emil Michael, stated that Anthropic's powerful security model, Mythos, is still a supply chain risk and that the Pentagon needs to strengthen its networks. The deals add to the existing agreements with Open AI and xAI, which have already been made.
