Georgia gas tax suspension for 60 days isn’t a done deal yet. It heads to Senate next

The Georgia House has passed a measure to temporarily suspend the state gas tax due to rising gas prices. The current gas tax is about 34 cents for regular unleaded and 37 cents for diesel. The measure is expected to save the average Georgian by around $5 or $6 when they fill up. The governor has the power to suspend the gas tax with an executive order, but this is not currently on the Senate's rules calendar.
