Dumbbells Sold at Walmart Recalled After Injuring 6 People Due to Plates Dislodging

The U.S. Consumer and Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled the FitRx SmartBell Quick-Select 5-52.5lbs Adjustable Dumbbells, which can be adjusted in 2.5 or 5-lb increments, due to an issue of dislodging weight plates during use. At least six people have reported injuries including broken toes, bruises, contusions and lacerations. The recall includes 50,000 units of the dumbbells. The products were imported by Tzumi Electronics Inc. and sold in Walmart stores nationwide from January 2024 through November 2024 for about $100.
