A new warning has been issued regarding AI and missing pets, specifically a new scam targeting a Deltona family who received pictures showing their missing dog, Archer, which they believe to be part of a scam to steal thousands of dollars. The family received the stolen dog after Archer disappeared from their backyard and returned him to their home after a few days of searching for him. The scam was discovered when the family received a call from an AI-generator claiming their dog had been hit by a car and needed urgent medical treatment. The caller then asked for a payment of 2746 bucks and suggested that the payment could be paid via a prepaid card. The thieves are now facing mandatory mandatory medical treatment after the dog's surgery.
