Scottie Scheffler, the world No. 1, was close to winning his third Masters but fell behind winner Rory McIlroy by one shot. Despite a strong start and a bogey-free charge over the final two rounds, Schefflers was unable to find another gear. He credits his failure to capitalise on this opportunity. Collin Morikawa, who entered the week with a back issue, finished tied for fourth at 9 under par.
