Concern as Thames Water pumps sewage into river for six weeks

The current levels of sewage, which are allowed to be discharged during periods of excess rainfall, are causing concern for wildlife and health. Over the course of the year, Thames Water has discharged sewage for over 2,700 hours and 30 minutes, raising concerns among residents and councillors. However, residents argue that fines would detract from supporting and improving the infrastructure. The company also published a real-time data map on its website before it became a legal requirement.
