The car that crashed into the Willamette River, killing three people, was recovered by Portland police and towing crews. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Roberto Garcia-Chavez, crossed Tom McCall Waterfront Park and drove into the river on April 6. Only one of the four passengers survived the crash. The recovery took at least two hours. The car ended up in the river two weeks ago after Garcia-chavez fled from a traffic stop. The bodies of Garcia and Badillo were recovered the day before the crash, but it took a week for volunteer divers to find Esperum's remains.
