A study has found that vegetarians have a significantly lower risk of developing five types of cancers, including pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, and a 9% lower breast cancer. The study, published in The Lancet, looked at data from over 1.8 million people for 16 years and found that a vegetarian diet can support good gut health. Despite the positive results, the researchers believe this may be due to vegetarians being deficient in key nutrients. They are unsure if meat consumption is to blame or if dietary habits are to blame.
