Cole Allen, the man charged with attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, told the FBI he didn't expect to survive the attack, according to a federal prosecutor. The disclosure came during a hearing called by federal Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui, who pressed the government over Allen's treatment behind bars. Allen had been placed on suicide precautions in a D.C. jail but was removed from these measures, along with a padded cell in 24-hour lockdown with constant lighting. The judge noted that this was not the first time the jail had handled defendants charged in cases of political violence.
