Box Office: ‘Lee Cronin’s The Mummy’ Can’t Scare Off ‘Super Mario’ Sequel, ‘Hail Mary’

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Project Hail Mary continue to dominate the box office, with Universal and Illumination's sequel set to cross the $350 million mark in the third weekend. The Mummy, directed by Lee Cronin, is set to open in third place with an estimated $12.5 million. Despite being about $60 million behind the first Super Mario, it is already the top-grossing Hollywood film of the year and is on the verge of surpassing $700 million in worldwide ticket sales. Meanwhile, Hail Mary continues its remarkable journey, falling only 23 percent in its fifth weekend to an estimated €18.5m for a domestic cume of $283m.
