The parents of a 10-year-old girl with autism, Heather Lynn Cross and Darcy Ronald Cross, are facing murder charges in her death. The charges stem from the death of the girl, who was reportedly crushed to death by her bed and left unsupervised for several hours. Both parents were initially charged with manslaughter but have now been charged with second-degree murder. The girl's bedroom was reportedly covered in urine and feces and contained several soiled mattresses. Both women are also facing four counts of wrongfully obtaining assistance by false statements, concealment or impersonation for allegedly collecting over $5,000 in tax.
