An Anchorage grand jury has indicted Marcus Mewborn on three counts of first-degree attempted murder, five counts of third-degree assault, and one count of misconduct involving a weapon. The charges stem from a police shooting last week involving police officers and an armed vehicle theft suspect during a Midtown foot pursuit. Mewborn, who was injured in the incident, was also wanted in ongoing criminal cases on numerous felony charges. He was arrested on April 17 at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Police are currently investigating the incident and an internal review will be conducted to determine if any officers should face criminal charges.
