Amy Madigan won the 2026 Oscar for her role in Zach Cregger's Weapons, becoming the actress with the longest gap (40 years and one month) between a first nomination and a victory. The previous record holder was Geraldine Page, who won for The Trip To Bountiful at the 1986 Oscars. Madigan's win was presented by Zoe Saldaña, the first Oscar given out during the show. She thanked Cregger for writing her dream part and her husband, Ed Harris, and other notable actors. In her speech, Madigan also mentioned Warner Bros. chiefs Pam Abdy and Michael De Luca, and her daughter, Lily, and husband, Sean.
