Career fair in Broward County gives former Spirit Airlines employees hope during time of uncertainty

At least 3,000 jobs across Broward have been affected by the closure of Spirit Airlines, which shuttered its headquarters in Dania Beach and operations at Fort Lauderdale International Airport. However, a state agency, CareerSource Broward, has offered job workshops and assistance to former Spirit employees. The agency is working to quickly find a job and assist employers in the process of re-evaluating their roles. The shutdown is also affecting Dania beach, where potential tax revenue from Spirit's massive Dania Point campus is also gone.
