San Diego native Daniel Salas has launched a pop-up restaurant, Omakase Inu, combining Japanese technique with Latin flavors. The restaurant is a reservation-based dinner series at Key & Cleaver in City Heights, offering up to eight people at six and seven days a week. The menu will change every three months depending on season. Salas credits his Hispanic heritage to creating fusion flavors not typically seen on traditional Japanese sushi menus. At $85 a head for a starter, the restaurant offers a starter with 11 pieces of nigiri, a hand roll, and a shot. Currently, interested parties have to message Salas on Instagram for a seat at the table.
