Hulu and MGM Television are developing a spinoff of Margaret Atwood's novel, The Testaments, an adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale sequel. The series will premiere on Hulu on April 8, 2026. It will take place more than 15 years after the events of the book and will pick up inside the Republic of Gilead, a dystopian theocracy. The casting choices include Chase Infiniti for the role of Agnes, Ann Dowd for Aunt Lydia, and Rowan Blanchard for Shunammite. The show's creator, Bruce Miller, stepped down as showrunner to focus on this project. However, it is uncertain if Elisabeth Moss will reprise her role in The Testimates.
