‘Game of Thrones’ Play ‘The Mad King’ Sets July Premiere Date, Reveals Creative Team

The Royal Shakespeare Company has revealed the production dates and a full creative team for "Game of Thrones: The Mad King," a new play based on George R. R. Martin's novels. The world premiere will run at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon from July 20 to Sept. 5. The production is billed as a sweeping stage epic that brings to life a legendary chapter of the history of Westeros. The full creative crew includes puppetry and movement directors Nick Barnes and Finn Caldwell, set designer Chloe Lamford, costume designer Georgia McGuinness, lighting designer Jon Clark, composer Will Stuart, and sound designer Tom Gibbons.
