The children's clothier, Carter's, is closing 150 stores across the United States as part of its turnaround efforts. The company, which operates the OshKosh and B'Gosh labels, has 11 stores on Long Island. The closures are part of a larger trend that includes more than 1,400 expected to close in 2026, including those from Macy's, Francesca's, and Eddie Bauer. The closure is attributed to increased product costs and increased investment. Additionally, the company laid off about 300 employees to absorb losses.
