Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between Japanese electronics giant Sony and auto manufacturer Honda, has decided to abandon developing its Afeela electric vehicle due to Honda's strategy overhaul. The decision leaves Sony without a viable path to bring the Afeel models to market. The joint venture will refund customers who made reservations for the Afoel, which was supposed to be its first model, in California. The move follows Honda's announcement of a writedown of up to $15.5 trillion yen ($19.7 billion) for its EV business.
