New Haven's Alling Memorial Golf Club hosted the Spring Invitational, intended to crown a team champion and individual medalist, and showcase the course as a competitive venue capable of supporting high-level amateur play. The invitational will be held over 18 holes of stroke play, with the course being set as a par 70 for the event. Participating institutions include Albertus Magnus, Eastern Connecticut State University, Western Connecticut State, Western New England University, Rhode Island College, Emmanuel College, Springfield College, and Gordon College. The event offers a unique benchmark for evaluating the course's design and conditioning, and demonstrates that the course can still support high level play while remaining accessible to the public.
