D.P. McIntire, the media nonprofit that is auctioning the call letters, has announced that WKRP in Cincinnati, after 48 years, will be coming to Cincinnati. The call sign was used by "WKRIP in Cincinnati" on a CBS television sitcom from 1978 to 1982. Proceeds from the sale will be used to establish a new nonprofit venture called Independent Broadcast Consultants.
