Man Who Shot Teen Mom, Left Her Roadside In NJ, Faces Federal Charges: DOJ

Jovan Young, a 37-year-old Georgia man, is facing federal kidnapping charges for allegedly shooting a woman, India Heath, in his car and leaving her on the side of the road in Morris County, New Jersey. The incident occurred on Christmas Eve when Young and Heath got into an argument and Young shot Heath in her abdomen, causing severe damage to her liver and a bullet lodged in her spine. Young was found by police on Christmas Day with luggage and a Glock 48 handgun and 30 hollow-point bullets. If convicted of the kidnapping charge alone, Heath could spend the rest of his life in prison.
