Mokas Coffee & Eatery, a small-town Kansas coffee shop, is set to expand into a larger business, with its first franchise location set to open in Olathe this year. The expansion is supported by a Wichita restaurant industry magnate and a franchise group planning six regional locations. The company was founded in 2005 and has opened corporate locations in Wichita and Colby, Kansas, and Arizona, where it has an in-house roasting facility. Scott Redler, co-founder of Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, joined Mokas in 2024 to build out its franchise capabilities. The remaining franchise locations in Johnson County, Lawrence and Topeka are expected by 2032.
