A beautiful Easter Sunday was celebrated with temperatures reaching the 60s and 70s, with temperatures expected to reach the 70s for highs on Monday afternoon. However, wind gusts will increase, leading to increased fire weather concerns and a Fire Weather Warning for a large portion of southwest Kansas from noon through 9 PM Monday. An unsettled pattern will move into the region throughout the week, with scattered showers and storms expected to be prevalent starting Tuesday night and continue through the weekend. The majority of the state will see at least an inch of rain over the next seven days. Despite the potential for rain, temperatures remain above average through the following week.
