Gillette Stadium gets a World Cup-style test run for trains, fans

Thousands of fans filled Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts for a friendly match between Brazil and France, a preview of the excitement ahead of the World Cup matches. The match was also the first real test for Greater Boston and the MBTA for how prepared they are for the influx of fans. The MBTA will shuttle nearly 20,000 fans to Gillette for each of the seven matches scheduled. Security measures were heightened at the stadium and Foxborough police have heightened patrols. The first World Cup match will be held in 79 days.
