The Oscars gave us plenty of moments to remember as awards season winds down, including the race for best actor for "Sinners" and "One Battle After Another" with "Sinner" winning six awards, including best picture and best actor. The film was particularly notable as both films were made for Warner Bros. which has just been acquired by Paramount Skydance and is expected to change radically if the merger goes through. The Oscars host, comedian Steve Killegan, paid tribute to previous Black Oscar winners including Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, and Halle Berry. The ceremony had many pointed comments about the sociopolitical climate at home and abroad, with many highlighting the need for caution and caution. The winner of best director was Paul Thomas Anderson, who finally received recognition from the academy for his distinctive vision.
