Virginia quarterback Chandler Morris, who is seeking a seventh year of NCAA eligibility, has been denied a preliminary injunction request by a Virginia circuit court judge. The 25-year-old athlete had sued the NCAA in February to return to the team for another season after his extension of eligibility waiver and appeal were denied. His lawyers argued that the NCAA wrongly denied a waiver for his 2022 season due to a knee injury, which he missed significant amounts of time due to the injury, and that mental health treatment documents submitted on Morris' behalf were not met with standards. This ruling is a significant victory for the NCAA after Mississippi QB Trinidad Chambliss was cleared to return in 2026 after the Mississippi Supreme Court rejected the NCAA's appeal.
