A winter storm has left thousands of We Energies customers across southeastern Wisconsin without power, with Washington County, Racine County and Milwaukee among the hardest hit areas. As of 6 a.m., approximately 10,000 customers across the state were without power. The company is urging customers who lose power to follow several safety precautions, including keeping refrigerators and freezers closed and disconnecting electronics, never using a gas stove or oven to heat their home, and those using generators should run them outside.
