Getting Stuck Inside a Glitching Robotaxi Is a Whole New Thing to Be Scared of

The Apollo Go incident in Wuhan, China, occurred on March 31, causing about 100 robotaxis to come to a complete stop and transform into poorly placed traffic cones with human beings inside. The incident was caused by a mysterious "system failure". According to reports, there are hundreds of Baidu-owned robotaxis in the city, which are operated by the Apollo Go app-based ride-hailing platform. Despite some collisions, no injuries were reported and the incident has been widely reported in the U.S. However, the incident suggests that robotaxis are an entirely new species in the ecosystem of our roadways.
