Mullin: 1.1K CISA staff left DHS amid partial shutdown

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin revealed that the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) lost about 1,100 employees during the partial government shutdown this year. The shutdown, which lasted 76 days, was part of a push for federal immigration reform following the killings of two U.S. citizens by federal immigration officers. Mullin also highlighted a significant increase in morale among DHS staff. Other DHS agencies are also dealing with similar staffing issues, particularly the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Despite internal disputes within the GOP over the best path forward, Mullin remains committed to protecting the homeland.
