A Newark Native Leads the Charge for Women’s HIV Care

Erica Williams, a program support specialist at the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center at the Rutgers School of Nursing, has been leading the charge for women's HIV care for over 20 years. She has been working to break down barriers of stigma and connect women in Newark and surrounding areas to health care. Her work includes supporting pregnant women with HIV, providing case management, home outreach, connecting clients to social services, and following up with clients and agencies to ensure they're linked to care. Williams also advocates for clients' rights and education about HIV during pregnancy and after delivery. She shares her personal experiences and advice on HIV prevention and awareness.
