International Women’s Day 2026 “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL women and girls”

On 5 March 2026, WHO/Europe will host a special online event to commemorate International Women’s Day, under the theme of “Rights. Justice. For ALL Women and Girls”. The event aims to emphasise the importance of women's right to physical and mental health as central to equitable, resilient and sustainable societies. Women represent 51% of the population in the WHO European Region, but persistent health inequities continue across the life course. The Region has the highest levels of gender equality globally, but no country has fully achieved the targets set by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The webinar aims to assess progress, identify persistent gaps in health sector leadership and support the right to health.
