Businessman Chris Sheafe and his wife, Lisa, were killed in a plane crash at Marana Regional Airport in Arizona. The announcement was shared by board member Taunya Villicana on behalf of the board. The Rio Nuevo is a tax increment finance district created in 1999 to revitalize downtown Tucson and uses state sales tax revenue to partner with private developers on projects.
