Mikal Bridges' performance for the New York Knicks has significantly decreased since the end of January, reaching a low point during the Western Conference swing that ended in Utah. Bridges insists that his lack of aggressiveness is not the issue, but a lack of opportunity or broken confidence. Since the All-Star break, he has averaged just 11.4 points and under 30 minutes while shooting 43.2 percent overall and 34.1 percent on treys. This is his lowest point and number of shot attempts since 2021-22 with the Phoenix Suns. The coaching change from Tom Thibodeau to Mike Brown was seen as an avenue to unlock Bridges' All-star capabilities. Despite this, Bridges has been losing playing time to his backup, Landry Shamet.
