Devin Williams off to drama-free start to season for Mets but knows he has room to improve

Devin Williams, the Mets closer, has made a largely quiet start to the season but acknowledges there is room for improvement. Despite not allowing an earned run in his first three appearances, Williams has already struck out four and walked two. Manager Carlos Mendoza stated there are no restrictions on Williams pitching back-to-back days this early in the season. Jorge Polanco is reportedly close to returning to play first base after dealing with left Achilles discomfort recently. The Mets were playing extra innings in three of their first six games, marking just the second time in franchise history they have played so many extra innings.
