The first round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament was largely lacking in surprises, with No. 1 seed Florida setting numerous records in its 114-55 win over Prairie View A&M. The favorites went 16-0 in the schedule for the first time since 1992, according to CBS Sports' research team. 14 teams won by 20 or more points during the first two days of the tournament, the most in Round of 64 history. Top-seed Duke managed to avoid a major upset against No. 16 Siena, and the top 16 seeds in the tournament have gone undefeated in this year's round. Meanwhile, only eight perfect brackets remain in CBS Sports Bracket Games. UConn's Tarris Reed Jr. recorded the first 30-25 performance since 1968 during their 82-71 win over Furman.
