Tens of thousands lose power in Milwaukee area as high winds down power lines

Tens of thousands of people are without electricity in the southeast Wisconsin area due to high winds. About 69,000 customers lost power as of 1:30 p.m. on March 13, including 22,000 in Waukesha County and 21,000 more in Milwaukee County. The city of Milwaukee had the highest number of outages at 14,000. A high wind warning is in effect for the area.
