The US President has taken numerous steps to reduce the footprint of green energy in the country, including ending the $7,500 EV tax credit and ending some residential solar projects. He has also blocked, temporarily in many cases, offshore wind projects. Some projects were restarted when they were taken to court due to legal issues. The administration has also purchased a wind project under construction by TotalEnergies for $1 billion. The strategy is now being used to incentivise companies to give up their leases and reinvestigate these projects. There are 43 projects in this category, which will be extremely expensive for the government to replace.
