Kanye "Ye" West has been ordered to pay former contractor, Tony Saxton, $140,000 after a mixed verdict was reached at Los Angeles Superior Court. The jury found that Saxton was not wrongfully terminated and engaged in no "malice, oppression, or fraud". The mixed verdict includes $100,000 for future medical expenses and $40,000 in past pain and suffering, but no awards for future or punitive damages. The case centered on the contractor work of Saxon, who claims he described himself as a "man with a van" and was forced to live in the property as he planned to make it self-sufficient and "off the grid". However, the dispute over the house remains ongoing and will result in an ongoing lawsuit against Saxon regarding a "mechanic's lien" placed on the property.
