Spain-US relations 'normal' despite Trump's trade threats, Spanish minister says

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares has stated that bilateral relations with the US are "normal" despite threats from President Donald Trump. This follows Spain's rejection of a war against Iran and a ban on US aircraft using jointly operated bases in southern Spain. The leftist government also criticised the U.S. for not meeting NATO's new defence spending target of 5% of national output. U.K. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, a close Trump ally, has suggested that Spain has "lost its way" and suggested that the US should relocate its air bases from Spain to a country that allows them.
