Former Nevada state senator Joyce Woodhouse, who represented a portion of Clark County for many years, has died at the age of 31. Woodhouse was elected to the Nevada Senate in 2006 and held her seat until 2010, later elected to represent the fifth Senate district in 2012 and re-elected in 2016. She served as co-negotiating co-manager and chief majority whip during her tenure. The Clark County School District awarded her the 2026 Excellence in Education Hall of Fame Award in March.
