The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has stocked 60,000 trout in lakes, ponds, and in southwest Oregon for spring break activities. The department transported more than 15,000 pan-sized trout in the Willamette Valley and nearly 45,000 in ponds and lakes on the north Oregon coast alone. Additionally, tens of thousands more were injected into still-cold waters of southwest Oregon. The Fisheries and Wildlife website lists specific numbers and sizes of fish, maps and directions, and a regional option. Licenses are only required for anyone 12 or older and no tagging is necessary for surplus steelhead. The Pacific Fishery Management Council has published its three alternatives for ocean salmon fishing.
