HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. joined Florida Agriculture Commissioner WILTON SIMPSON at a press conference in Miami, where he announced that Florida would be joining the Trump administration's health care push to bring healthier foods to hospitals. This follows a program started last year that connects Florida farmers and ranchers with food banks to improve nutrition and reduce waste. The event was attended by the Trump-aligned America First Policy Institute, which included key stakeholders in a federal initiative delivering fresh, farm-grown foods directly to hospital. However, no member of the state Agency for Health Care Administration, which oversees most of Florida’s Medicaid program and quality control for all Florida health care facilities, was in attendance.
