The Fairfield Garden Club (FGC) is hosting a free Flower Show at the Fairfield University Bookstore on May 1 & 2. The event follows the footsteps of Mabel Osgood Wright, a pioneering conservationist whose work helped shape America's environmental consciousness at the turn of the 20th century. Wright founded the Audubon Society of Connecticut, led the National Audubonic Society and established the Birdcraft Sanctuary in Fairfield, Connecticut, a landmark model for wildlife and habitat preservation across the country. Additionally, she was a prolific author, publishing 27 works of fiction and non-fiction. The club's 150+ members remain inspired by her vision as part of the Garden Club of America.
