20-year-old man charged with killing elderly couple in car crash in Geneva, officials say

Charles T. Rodgers, a 20-year-old man from St. Charles, has been charged with killing a man and a woman in their 80s in a car crash in Geneva, Illinois. The crash occurred around 1.40 p.m. on Sept. 5, 2025 at Bricher Road and Fisher Drive. Rodgers allegedly accelerated to 119 mph and did not attempt to brake, instead swerving and attempting to avoid the collision. The vehicle Rodgers was driving caught fire after the crash, but was extinguished.
