Epanada Fest, now in its sixth year, is set to return to the outdoor Granary Live venue in Salt Lake, with about 2,500 attendees expected to attend, a significant increase from the previous year. The event will also feature a Fisher Beer garden, live performances, and a contest for the best empanada served from Argentina, Jamaica, Peru, Thailand, and Venezuela. The idea for the festival was conceived when Ana Valdemoros, a former Salt Lake City Council member and owner of Argentina's Best Empanadas, began selling boxes of empanadas during the 2011 pandemic.
