NBPD Fraud Investigation Leads to Arrest and Extradition from Florida

North Branford Police in Connecticut has led a fraud investigation led by Detective Massimo Piroli who discovered that a victim had been deceived by individuals posing as trusted representatives, leading to the theft of a significant amount of money from her financial accounts. The investigation led to an extraditable arrest warrant for Justin Dwyer Sr., 32, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who was held as a fugitive from justice in Fort Lauderdale and later extradited to Connecticut. Dwyer was charged with several charges including Larceny in the Second Degree, Identity Theft in the First Degree, Money Laundering in the Fourth Degree, and Conspiracy to Commit Illegal Use of a Credit/Debit Card in accordance with Connecticut law. The North Branford police have urged residents to remain vigilant against financial scams targeting senior citizens and to report any unsolicited requests involving money, banking information, or personal identifying information.
