Charlevoix Community Foundation awards $186K for environment & arts

The Charlevoix County Community Foundation has awarded $186,293 in grants to support local environmental and cultural projects. The foundation hosted two grant cycles in March, responding to requests from non-profit organizations working in environmental conservation and the arts. Seven organizations received $106,545 in Environment & Land Use grants, with $7,000 spent on projects such as habitat restoration, land protection, outdoor facility improvements, stream restoration and environmental education. Fifteen organizations received a total of $79,748 in Arts & Culture grants. The funds will support various projects including music lessons, facility improvements and educational programming.
