Ex-Liberty High WR selected in second round of NFL draft

Former Liberty High wide receiver Germie Bernard has been selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-1,206-pound wide receiver started his college career at Washington and spent the 2023 season at Michigan State before playing his last two college seasons at Alabama. He was named Gatorade state football player of the year after recording 956 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.
