Tahoe ski resorts are closing weeks earlier than expected due to the melting of the snow. Palisades Tahoe, one of the largest ski areas in North America, has announced it no longer plans to stay open until Memorial Day due to current conditions. Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe has also moved its closing date up from April 29 to April 12. Diamond Peak in Incline Village will close on March 29 earlier than planned and ahead of its annual Easter egg hunt. Resort activities are being increased in an effort to attract skiers, offering music, events and steep discounts.
